Job Summary

As a Manager in the Finance Business Partnering team, you will be the team’s first port of call for general finance and business decision support. You will be a financial professional with good business, technical, analytical and commercial skills. As a strong communicator, you will work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

Management Information and Finance Tech

  • Deliver the Finance MI & Tech agenda through high quality reporting, driving continuous improvement and fostering excellent working relationships with stakeholders in the local business and in the UK.

  • Meet regularly with UK key stakeholders to discuss improvements including standardisation, automation, self-service uptake, consolidation and best practices.

  • Work collaboratively with the Business to ensure reporting remains relevant and insightful, and aligned with the firm’s financial objectives.

  • Understanding and prioritising the management information needs of the business and working on the design and implementation of PowerBI dashboards, and other finance tech, to satisfy these needs.  

  • Help drive and ensure new tools and technologies are being designed, implemented, and used appropriately throughout the Finance team including PowerBI & Finance AI.  

  • Challenge existing norms and proactively identify ideas for automation, reporting and analysis improvements. 

Management Reporting:

  • Preparing the monthly management accounts by interpreting the monthly financial results and providing commentary to the Finance Business Partnering Lead and firm’s leadership.

  • Monitoring areas of financial performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and escalating issues where management action is required.

  • Identifying and driving financial improvements through pricing, efficiency, resource allocation or cost management.

Budgeting & Planning:

  • Working with the business to prepare revenue and cost budgets, plans and forecasts.

  • Assisting with the production of forward looking and insight driven reporting to help the firm plan, prepare and manage future performance.

  • Providing a depth of insight to the leadership team enabling key strategic decision making and suggesting corrective action where required.

  • Demonstrating an understanding of the business’ issues and applying market and industry knowledge.

Financial Control:

  • Encouraging a culture of strong financial disciplines and embedding those behaviours.

  • Assisting with the year-end external audit.

Team Development:

  • Driving the Finance Digital & Innovation agenda in the Finance Pillar and throughout the firm.

  • And other tasks as assigned by the Finance Business Partnering Lead.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Qualified accountant with recognised accounting body.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Understands and applies principles of data to reporting, such as quality, model, confidentiality, definition and management.

  • Commercially minded individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to demonstrate application of accounting standards.

  • Action oriented self-starter, focused on continuous improvement in process efficiency and driving change through technology.

  • People management skills and ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable skills:

  • PowerBI experience

  • Project management skills

Travel Requirements

You will be required to make short trips from time to time to the firm’s office in Guernsey and the UK Firm’s offices in London and/or Belfast.
